automatic resize avatar

is it available for phpbb3?

i am trying to look for it and cant find it...

some people are complaining about hard to use avatar... well i believe they are lazy and already used to vb or ipb system...

edit: do different word for search and i found only one

It depends on the method used to set the avatar.

When "Link off-site" is used, the user may set the Avatar dimensions within the allowed dimensions and the off-site avatar will automatically resized.

For upload (either from your machine or URL) the dimensions should be within the allowed dimensions of the board. Just explain to your users how they are able to resize their images e.g. using paint.

i tried link-off (offsite) link and it will not avatar automatically...

You must fill in the Avatar dimensions within the allowed dimensions of your board. Don't let it be decided automatically!

Just have a look at my avatar now. I used the picture of the ad at the bottom of the phpbb.com forum and manually entered 120 x 30 for the dimensions.

so weird...

at acp, i use 40x40px to 100X300px rule...

and the error said

The submitted avatar is 140 pixels wide and 279 pixels high. Avatars must be at least 40 pixels wide and 40 pixels high, but no larger than 100 pixels wide and 300 pixels high.

did i still miss something?

ah i thought you mean ACP... thats why i am puzzling...

anyhow thats not what i want... i hope it will resize to the maximum avatar size rule when submit... not manually input to resize the avatar in UCP...

Than you will have to find or request a mod to resize avatars automatically.

With a quick search I found two mods that appear to work:
