Missing "gzip" ratio button for Database > Backup in ACP

Post by PyroDragon »

I am moving to a new web host, and I need to backup my forum. I am trying to follow the official tutorial for backing up your forum, which is located here. For the step where you need to backup your Database, I wanted to follow the third option, but I don't have the required "gzip" ratio button option. Please take a look at my attachment; I took a screen shot of my ACP. Why don't I have this ratio button in my list of options, and how can I restore the option back? Is it required for me to have this option in order to backup my forum?

No, this means gzib isn't available from your host. You can use the text format if you'd like. That should work fine.

Glad it worked. Also, please note that I submitted a ticket so that this problem (no gzip) is addressed in the Knowledge Base article.

If, as you said above, that the lack of the radio button is because that option is not available from that host, then why is this a bug? seems like it is acting as intended.

does the radio button show up if the gzip option is available from the host?

if so, then there is no bug.
