Splitting thread - subject issues

Post by rsandr »

Hi,
When you split a thread all the posts obviously have the subject of the old thread. Is there a way to easily do a bulk change.
I know i'm being a bit picky here!

Also do some of you NOT display the subject on each individual post? It's not really necessary is it unless of course the poster wants to change it.

Yes, with a SQL query like:

Code: Select all

UPDATE phpbb_posts SET post_subject = '<new subject>' WHERE topic_id = new_topic_id AND post_subject = '<old subject';

Some people do. In fact, the Do you encourage users to subject every post? topic discussed some of that.
