Different languages for forum & admin panel?

Post by sav1812 »

Hello,

I would like to know - is it possible to set different languages for forum and admin panel?
If so - how can I do it?

Thank you.

Not without some sort of MOD.
Why don't you just use a seperate login for an admin user with the Language setting as you want it in the ACP?

The language of the board for you will be whatever you have chosen in your User Control Panel. Why would you, personally, need a different language for the ACP than for the board?

Well... :)

Somebody asked me for help in installation and administration of his forum (phpBB or VBulletin).
Forun must be in German.
My native language is Russian, but I know some words ;) in English.

I know less the 20 words in German, so I need English administration interface.
But I don't know if it is possible in German forum...

Any suggestion?

Whatever language you choose in your User Control Panel would be the language of the Admin control panel for you. If that forum has both German and English installed, you would simply choose English in your User Control Panel, and the Admin control panel will have that language too.

Heh... :)

I just tried to choose different (English) language for my admin account in Russian forum.
Seems I have to take some vacations.. :)

Thank you all! :)
