Just a single subforum

Post by Upquark » Sun Mar 21, 2010 11:17 pm

Hi,

I'm running a small and simple family forum. The forum only has one subforum (named 'General'), and I was wondering whether it's possible to have that specific subforum to be the index page for the forum itself.

I.e., when I go to www.my-family-forum.com, I get to see the topic list for 'General', instead of the ordinary index page with a single subforum entry 'General'.

Perhaps something with URL rewrite? Or maybe a setting I'm overseeing...

Thank you! :)

rename index.php to index.php.bak. Then create a new index.php with the following content:

Code: Select all

<?php
header( 'Location: http://www.mysite.com/your_board_root_folder/viewforum.php?f=N' ) ;
?>
OR

OPEN index.php

FIND:

Code: Select all

display_forums('', $config['load_moderators']);
AFTER ADD ON A NEW LINE:

Code: Select all

redirect(append_sid("{$phpbb_root_path}viewforum.$phpEx", 'f=N'));
N is the forum id of your one forum.
