Change default language for all users

Postby panhead » Mon Mar 22, 2010 9:23 pm

I have changed the default language (from English to British English). How can I make this the default language for existing members?

you should run a query against the USERS_TABLE, the field is user_lang .

Code: Select all

UPDATE phpbb_users SET `user_lang` = 'en'  WHERE `user_type` <> 2;

For those they are not running on MySql just remove the ` (back ticks) from the above query.

Just one more question, how can I prevent users to change their default language?

Do you need any other languages installed?
If not, just uninstall all the other languages, then they won't be able to change.

I think that easiest solution would be just set new language as default un-install current default language.
And then re-install if needed.

@Wonderland: Why are you replying to two year old topics marked as Image?

There was no need to do any extra steps, and it is a bit pointless commenting on a topic which is more than two years old...
