Convert phpbb_posts to Innodb

Post by Ciao121 »

Hi,
if I try to convert phpbb_posts to innodb with this command:
ALTER TABLE phpbb_posts ENGINE = INNODB;
I receive this error:
The used table type doesn't support FULLTEXT indexes

Should I remove those indexes? Is it safe?
post_subject
post_text
post_content

BTW I'm using sphinx as search engine for the board.

INNODB does not support FULLTEXT indexes, so the indexes can be safely deleted. I do not know how Sphinx works, but I believe that it does work with INNODB tables. The topic that Ric pointed to should give you more information.

Yes, that's how I implemented sphinx; my doubt was if phpbb uses those fulltext indexes for other features than search.

The FULLTEXT indexes are used only for the Fulltext mysql search option. They are not used for the Fulltext native (active) search option.
