You are not authorised to read this forum ?

""You are not authorised to read this forum""

One of my new users is getting this message whenever he is logged in ! IF he trys to travel direct to a post which I have linked.

When he logs in on the home page of the site, as soon as he logs in it comes up saying "This board has no forums"....

Any ideas ?

All other users seem to be OK.

test_user here if you want to see.

test_user is the login and pw.

Run the forum-based permissions mask on his username. It seems like he has some Never user permissions.

I have gone into USERS and GROUPS, then found the user with the problem.

And under the PERMISSIONS drop down choice everything under ADMIN, GLOBAL and USER is red (NEVER, like you said).

SO, this guy isnt admin or global mod, so thats fine. BUT, how do I change the USER permissions, I cant find the option.

Yes, I did this. It wouldnt let me access anything either then. (You mean "test user permissions" in the MANAGE USERS link... I assume)

Why would it do this to this one user only ?

Strange no ?

Right. OK.

I have done it. He is authorized again, I added him as a user to a "registered users" group and it fixed the issue.

BUT, one question.

Why did this happen ? Why did he get set with NEVER permissions, even on posting in forums, and seeing forums etc ?

No, if I had meant that I would have said that. I meant the Forum-based Permissions MASK.

Without knowing what that mask said and hence knowing where that permission came from, I cannot answer your question.

I´m sorry. I don´t know how to do that. I thought it was what I did.

I am not a professional at this.
