[SOLVED] sid assistance required

Support Request Template
What version of phpBB are you using? phpBB 3.0.7-PL1
What is your board's URL? http://www.rollinonswangs.com/secforum/index.php
Who do you host your board with? GoDaddy
How did you install your board? I used the download package from phpBB.com
Is your board a fresh install or a conversion? Fresh Install
Do you have any MODs installed? Yes
Is registration required to reproduce this issue? No
What MODs do you have installed? Minor edit to the index page to refresh every 30 seconds. - Tested Working as expected (code below).
Forum Sponser (to generate unique "banners" for each forum) - Tested Working as expected.
What styles do you currently have installed? (Slightly Modified) twilightBB
What language(s) is your board currently using? English
Which database type/version are you using? MySQL 5
What is your level of experience? Comfortable with PHP and phpBB
When did your problem begin? Uncertain.
Please describe your problem. I must define the two forums in question by their subdirectory (from root) - forum and secforum. forum is our live forum and secforum is a restored backup of forum in its own directory using the exact same phpbb files - except for changes to config.php. I have created basic users on both sites for your use - testuser/testuser (login: testuser password: testuser).

secforum is restored from a backup of forum as i explained above. Because they are on the same domain I needed to create a unique cookie name for the secforum: cleverly called "phpbb3_secondary" to avoid complications.

I have a small modification to index.php below that exists on both forums. It has been tested on both forums and is working as expected without any session drops, etc.

Code: Select all

$timeInSeconds = 30;
$host = $_SERVER["HTTP_HOST"];
$forum = $_SERVER["PHP_SELF"];
$sessionId = $_GET["sid"];
header("refresh: " . $timeInSeconds . "; url=http://" . $host . $forum . ($sessionId != "" ? "?sid=" . $sessionId : ""));
My problem/question/concern: I am noticing that on secforum as index.php refreshes the sid is stored in the URL. However, in the live forum, after the first refresh of index.php the sid is no longer visible in the URL. Are my cookies working properly on secforum?

Should i be concerned or worried; or is this not an issue at all? I want a duplicate forum for future modding that works as identically as possible.

I really appreciate any help that can be given.

On both boards, you need to change the cookie domain to

Code: Select all

.rollinonswangs.com
The leading dot is missing on both
