General Error

Post by datkeoniguy »

I get the following error after saving a user name change in admin but the change was made.
I'm not sure how to fix this error. Any suggestions please?

SQL ERROR [ mysql4 ]

Table './homename_bbforum/phpbb3_search_wordmatch' is marked as crashed and last (automatic?) repair failed [144]

SQL

SELECT w.word_id, w.word_text, m.title_match FROM phpbb3_search_wordlist w, phpbb3_search_wordmatch m WHERE m.post_id = 184111 AND w.word_id = m.word_id

Looking at the database structure again today in phpmyadmin, it shows the table phpbb3_search_wordmatch "in use". Does this mean the table is still being repaired after 12 hours and a shutdown of phpmyadmin? It is a quite large database.

I contacted the site host about this and this was the reply. Perhaps it may be useful to someone else.
By default mysql dumps the tables to /tmp on a repair and if /tmp fills the repair will halt (without a warning message). This typically happens if the tables are large. I've changed the mysql tmpdir to /home/mysql-tmp and the repair completed quickly.
