Problem with characters encoding

Post by ivellios1988 » Sat Jun 05, 2010 11:55 am

I am running phpBB 3.0.5 with polish translation.

I have integrated phpBB3 with my website and everything works fine. The problem appears when I try to show something from my forum on my website.

As we know, phpBB3 uses UTF-8 encoding. My website uses ISO-8859-2 (encoding used for polish characters). When I try to show on my website something from my forum (for example, a table with recent posts), I see the question marks instead of polish letters.

I tried using iconv(), but it doesn't work, moreover, it cuts text containing the "ó" character in place where this character appears.

Is there any way to solve this problem?

PS
I wouldn't like to change encoding of the whole website, just because it's too much work for me and I'm too lazy to do it ;) :P (my website contains over 800 articles and over 6000 comments).

So are you saying that the language is good in phpBB but not on your website?
