My style has a 3.0.7 version available now with only minor changes...

This precisely what the auto update package is for. Backup your files before updating. Styles customizations, however, will be an issue and have to be redone because 3.0.5 styles will not work properly with 3.0.7.

sweet i thought i read a few times people would have to re do mods from scratch but that must of been concerning errors or full installs, or with mods that arent .7 compatible if thr are any, cool il defo be upgrading then, so all i will have to focus on is the design changes iv made and small things such as colour changes etc made to style file?? :P

My guess is that your existing .css files will continue to work with the 3.0.7 version of your style (if one exists, check that).

You have over written the MOD changes in your style.
When updating a style you must compare and add the MOD changes or reinstall the MOD's.

I have no idea what changes in the template folder are for the MOD's you have installed. You would have to ask the author of the MOD.

Something to consider for the future is an update 'complexity ratio'.

What I use as a complexity ratio is (standard) x (number of Mods +1) x (number of non-standard styles +1)

For updating a standard install with no mods or stiles you would have = 1 x 1 x 1 = 1 complexity.
if you have just a few Mods (say 3) with no additional styles you have = 1 x 3 x 1 = 3 complexity
if you have no mods and say 2 extra styles you have = 1 x 1 x 2 = 2 complexity.
If you have both 3 Mods plus 2 styles you have = 1 x 3 x 2 = 6 complexity.

The higher the number the harder the update - either auto or manual.

----

I am not saying not to add Mods or styles, but be aware that with each one you add you add to the complexity of updating the standard files each time an update is available. Obviously some Mods are very small and some are huge, so this is only a very simple 'complexity ratio' to use.

To add both additional styles and Mods is to add a complexity to the update which you need to be aware of.

When ever I am asked about Mods & style changes to forums I support, I normally suggest that my recommendation is for one or the other, not both, unless the person who is to do the updates is suffiently knowledgeable with php/html coding.

So only add Mods which you 'realy' need, and keep the number of styles as small as possible.
