Quick Search Usernames - Not Posts

Post by mutank » Thu Jun 24, 2010 2:05 am

The quick search in the header in the top right (default prosilver theme), it is designed to only search posts.

Is there a code edit (hopefully simple) which would change the query to search the member list, and not posts?

I fear that it's easier said then done.

Many thanks for reading :)

What do you mean "search the memberlist"?
Are you just trying to find a specific user, or all posts made by a specific user?

I think he's saying like in advanced search you can look for a user and all their posts and mentions come up. I think that's what he means.

No.

I mean that you type in a user's username, and it does a memberlist search. This has nothing to do with finding posts. Only user's profiles.

Why not click the memberlist and then 'find a member'.

I wanted it to be a quick search function, not having someone to manually navigate to the user search page, just like if they would have to manually navigate to the post search page.
