disapprove post problem

Post by csat »

I'm not sure what I have done but I am assuming I have deleted or altered part of a file or files by accident to cause this problem. Basically, when I disapprove a post there is no box to type in to state the "reason for disapproval" or "further information". Can anyone point me in the direction of which files I need to change and what I need to add / change? My site is http://www.csat.org.uk/phpBB3. Any help at all gratefully received. To clarify here is a screen shot of the issue:

You can solve this by updating your board. Do you have any MOD's installed?
Also I find your style version http://www.phpbb.com/customise/db/style/tara/ which is designed for version 3.0.5 and your board version 3.0.6

I do have mods installed but have no idea which could be causing this problem, if any. I am using the following mods: automod, user IP logs, Duplicate user IPs, notify admin on registration, prime bbcode spoiler, redbar and prime ban to group. I did upload the tara style but am not using it - I'm using prosilver which I have modified.

Since you have MOD's I suggest updating using the auto update package found here http://www.phpbb.com/downloads/olympus. ... u&update=1
This should take care of any issues you may be experiencing.

I have already used this and the MCP says that my version is up to date as it is version 3.0.7-PL1.

Your Prosilver style shows 3.0.6 Subsilver2 is at 3.0.7
The auto updater should have updated Prosilver.

What had you done or what files have you edited just prior to the issue?

I'm afrais I have made quite a lot of changes since I updated to 3.0.7-PL1 so I have no idea which of the files I have edited. Perhaps if I knew which file to look at I could compare it to the updated one and work out where I've gone wrong.

Well the indicator that your style hasn't been updated is:
http://www.csat.org.uk/phpBB3/styles/pr ... /style.cfg

but just editing that file doesn't make it 3.0.7.
You need to check that all the updates listed here have been done to that style.

You should keep an accurate list of what MODs you have installed and what changes you have made. You will need it when the next update to phpBB comes out.

Thank you for that link. I will go through and make all those alterations and let you know if that sorts my issue out. I have a list of what mods I have made and on what date but have not listed which files have been altered. I will do that from now on though so thank you for the tip.

OK a quick question. Where it says :
#-----[ OPEN ]---------------------------------------------
#
styles/prosilver/template/captcha_recaptcha.html
#
#-----[ FIND ]---------------------------------------------
# Around Line 13

{L_CONFIRM_CODE}:
{L_RECAPTCHA_EXPLAIN}

      //
      var RecaptchaOptions = {
#
#-----[ FIND ]---------------------------------------------
# Around Line 18
         lang : '{L_RECAPTCHA_LANG}',
#
#-----[ REPLACE WITH ]---------------------------------------------
#
         lang : '{LA_RECAPTCHA_LANG}',
#
do I replace
a) the first thing it asks me to find
b) the second thing it asks me to find or
c) both

Thank you. i have managed to update everything with the exception of the following edit:
#-----[ OPEN ]---------------------------------------------
#
styles/prosilver/theme/links.css

#
#-----[ FIND ]---------------------------------------------
# Around Line 1
/* proSilver Link Styles
---------------------------------------- */

#
#-----[ AFTER, ADD ]---------------------------------------------
#

/* Links adjustment to correctly display an order of rtl/ltr mixed content */
a {
   direction: ltr;
   unicode-bidi: embed;
}
when I do this edit my forum suddenly has a white background, had no images apart from the site logo and only contains text. Any ideas where I'm going wrong?

You must have broken somethiing else in that file.
Please post the first 20 lies of the current version of that file (i.e. including your addition).

Re: disapprove post problem

Post by Draketornado »

Hi guys

I have exactly the same problem....or nearby the same problem.

If i use these lines in my links.css, my forumpage is completely white! No text, no images, just white!
But if you use a slow internet connection, you can see that the page is loaded in background, and if finished loading it just turns into white!

Any suggestions?

Kindly regards
