Please describe your problem. When new users try to sign up and activate their account, the find an error saying this.

"General Error
SQL ERROR [ mysqli ]

[0]

An SQL error occurred while fetching this page. Please contact the Board Administrator if this problem persists."
Generated by SRT Generator ($Rev: 3988 $)

When new users try to sign up and activate their account, the find an error saying this.

"General Error
SQL ERROR [ mysqli ]

[0]

An SQL error occurred while fetching this page. Please contact the Board Administrator if this problem persists."

The strange thing is, it doesn't say what caused the error.

Pre-existing users are able to login fine, only new users which have just registered can't login.

Any ideas what could have caused this?

To get some more extensive error reporting, please edit your config.php file, and remove the "//" from the start of these two lines:
//@define('DEBUG', true);
//@define('DEBUG_EXTRA', true);
So they look like this:
@define('DEBUG', true);
@define('DEBUG_EXTRA', true);

And now I get

Code: Select all

General Error
SQL ERROR [ mysqli ]

[0]

SQL

No values specified for SQL IN comparison

BACKTRACE

FILE: includes/db/dbal.php
LINE: 379
CALL: dbal->sql_error()

FILE: portal.php
LINE: 272
CALL: dbal->sql_in_set()
Username: test7
password: testtest

Line 272 of portal.php contains:

Code: Select all

$sql = "SELECT COUNT( post_id ) AS count
			FROM " . PROFILE_POSTS_TABLE . ' WHERE ' . $db->sql_in_set('user_id', $friend_list);
UPDATE: Apperently, http://www.skoomster.com/forums/ucp.php works fine, http://www.skoomster.com/forums/portal.php does not

Your error wrote:FILE: portal.php
LINE: 272
CALL: dbal->sql_in_set()
The file causing the error is portal.php, which is NOT a part of phpBB. You'd need to ask whoever wrote that portal.

Yeah, i'm looking into the issue myself right now. Thanks for the tip on enabling debugging. I have enough info now to work on my own.
