Hello everyone!

While the sun shines I'm in the basement to try to find the solution to my worries, to no avail, so I come to the community ...

My concern: can not upload files> 1GB

I obviously did some research on the forum, but I can not find anything on the upload very large files> 1GB in my case the trouble is: when uploading a file with 1.4GB IE8, the file appears to be transferred, but after about 40 minutes, the post creation page is redisplayed with the title and text, but without the attachment, and I'm still in design mode. This means that the post is not validated, a bit like when you try to post a file with an extension not allowed except in the case foresaw no error message, even when the stealth refresh page ...

I can post without worries files 700-800MB ...

My php config is as follows:
max_execution_time 60000
max_file_uploads 1000
max_input_nesting_level 64
max_input_time 60,000
memory_limit 1024000000
post_max_size 5000M
upload_max_filesize 5000M
upload_tmp_dir C: / MoteurWeb / php / temp (which has 8GB free)
In phpBB: there is no size limit (all parameters are 0) and GZIP is off.

Nothing in the attachments orphans, or in the php temp (before or after the post, and not during)...

Here I block ...

Thank you in advance for your assistance! ;)

nota: To test the download, with a little manip I upload a small file that I replaced (hard on the server) with the bulk by updating the size in the table, it is good and I can download without worries.

Is it really necessary to use such files for attachments? HTTP and PHP really isn't designed to handle such files.

It's better to use FTP for such things and the link to the files URL, why would you use attachments?

Those integers might wrap around. Try these settings, if you really want GiBytes of files have sent via HTTP:

Code: Select all

post_max_size 1900M
upload_max_filesize 1900M

Thanks !

I test the new value... maybe mine are too important ...

The new version of Apache 2.2.15 can normally exceed the limit of 2GB, is there a special configuration to do?

Have you tested it yet - or will you test it? Prophecies don't help anyone. Reply after you've tried.

Apache may handle 2 GiB but then there's still PHP needing to support it. And on top phpBB3 in general. Consider 1.999 GiB as a maximum filesize to live with.

See: 4 bytes (or 32bit) can hold values from 0 to 4294967295 - or from -2147483648 to 2147483647. 2 * 1024 * 1024 * 1024 = 2 GiByte = 2147483647 - 1. Hence the 2 GiByte minus 1 Byte limit. Very basic stuff.

Thank you very much for your help and your explanations!
I'm (like everyone else) expect that PHP supports larger values.

But for the moment your help was invaluable and my server is now configured for files 1.9Go, which is already very well!

Thank you and see you soon on the net!
