converting HTML to BBcode for PHPBB3

Post by onslack »

Afternoon,

not sure if this is the right place or not, but feel free to move it.

i was wondering if someone is able to help shed some light on this, i have recently used a crawler script to get my forum off invisionfree and onto phpbb2 i checked everything was working as it should, images worked as did sig's etc

i then upgragded from phpbb2 to phpbb3 and none of my images or sigs work :cry:

ive done some searching on google and on here and cant seem to find much help,as all the threads i have found so far seem to come up with dead ends!

what i want to know is, is there a way to get my images on all the threads working again with a converter? is there such a thing out there? i have far to many posts/thread to even attempt doing it manually!

please help! :lol:

cheers

Terry

Iassume you mean BBCode tags and not html tags.

Use the Support Toolkit to reparse the BBCode. It has a tool for that.

Hi, can i just ask what you mean by this? I had an invisionfree forum, and wanted to try and copy over members/topics to phpbb but didn't think it was possible.
My phpBB Extensions
Finally found great Website Hosting from Image KUALO!
Do NOT use 123-reg.co.uk - Incapable of running phpBB!

Hi,

i didnt think it was possible either untill i did some digging on google, i found this thread

http://www.phpbb.com/community/viewtopi ... 5&start=30

i downloaded, configured the settings etc and it worked a treat, you have to install a phpbb2 forum first, let the crawler do its work then upload everything to the phpbb2 forum, check its all working, then i upgrarded to phpbb3 :D

right after re-running the reparse BBCode without getting any errors this time, it still didnt work!

so i'll explain a bit better what i'm after :oops: :lol:

a quote from my forum to show the code i've got littering the place.... -

Code: Select all

on wednesday after i had finished work i shot off to the post office to collect another parcel that i had missed, 2 cans of crackle black had arrived for me <!--emo&:top:--><img src='http://209.85.48.9/1785/188/emo/top.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='top.gif' /><!--endemo-->

i got my spare rocker cover out of the shed and headed to baz's work, i gave it a clean off in the degreasing tank thing

then set about spraying it, nice and shiny

<img src='http://i5.photobucket.com/albums/y159/onslack/2Ltr%20MK2/01cfaa71.jpg' border='0' alt='user posted image'>

then after 3 coats, i left it in the sun to dry out,looked really good here

<img src='http://i5.photobucket.com/albums/y159/onslack/2Ltr%20MK2/39df0f17.jpg' border='0' alt='user posted image'>

ive since left it at baz's work to set a bit longer, not seen in since but baz said it looked awesome, so might ask to have a pic sent to me <!--emo&:top:--><img src='http://209.85.48.9/1785/188/emo/top.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='top.gif' /><!--endemo-->

i dont want it like that, i then copied the same code into this converter http://www.seabreezecomputers.com/html2bbcode/

and it came out like this( i can confirm that the below code works as it should on the forum)

Code: Select all

http://www.phpbb.com/community/viewtopi ... 5#p5795155
