ACP problem!

Post by andyniko »

Hi team,

When I login to the ACP and click on one of the Board Configuration items (such as Board Features) it returns a blank page.

I made a recent customization using a addon from phpbb3 to display the "most recent post" but not sure if this is related or not. Any suggestions on resolving this?

Cheers,
andyniko

Well as you've recently made changes first double check these changes and make sure that you've applied them correctly. If thats the case, than provide us with the information necessary to assist you by filling out the Support Request Template.

This looks like a PHP error. You need to check your PHP error log for the exact error and then work on resolving it. If you paste it here, we'll do our best to help you fix it :)

Go through the installation file again and double check that you've made no mistakes while uninstalling.

I was very thorough during both the installation, and certainly more so during the uninstall process. It happened around the time of this mod but it had been awhile since I used the ACP so it's possible it happened before this.

What pages/files would these ACP options be linked to? I.E. Which files can I check and compare against the default?

Try comparing includes/acp/acp_board.php as that contains the board settings and board features pages.

I have definitely uninstalled mod correctly.

Any suggestions? Can I attach any files to help troubleshoot?

I'm really stuck here. I can't even upgrade phpbb3 as the "install page" is also blank.

In config.php, can you uncomment the two lines that define the constants 'DEBUG' and 'DEBUG_EXTRA'? Just remove the // from the start of each line. Now visit the ACP and paste any errors you get here in code tags. Then re-comment those two lines.

How would I go about installing a fresh install of phpbb3 (latest version) and then link it back to the existing database to retain all posts and user logins etc.

Ideally at the same time retaining the existing forum as a backup.

Follow these instructions. *NOTE: Before proceeding backup all files and the database.*
  • Upload all new files from a download of the full version, EXCEPT for config.php, the /images and /files folders.
  • Go to yoursite.com/forumfolder/install/database_update.php
  • Let that run and then delete the install folder.
  • You now have a new up to date board containing all your users and posts but without any MODs that you might have had installed.
