Timing out!

Post by rad07h »

Hey guys! I have phpbb3.0.8. And when members of the forum post topics or make responses they are recieving an error that says their request is timed out. When they go back their post is deleted. How can I fix
this? Thanks in advance!!

Link to your board please. In your ACP -> General tab -> Server Configuration -> Security settings -> Check IP against DNS Blackhole List: what do you have set, Yes or No?

This looks like a problem with the server load and/or the connectivity to the server. If may also be caused by some mod, but since you did not fill in the support template to tell us more about your forum, I can only guess ;)

In any case, contacting your host would be a good start.

Do you have shell access? You use the "top" command in shell to see if your server is busy.

Do you have the exact error message handy? A screen cap of the message is fine too. Is it reproducible on demand (with every post) or does the issue come and go randomly?

If you have tried the above suggestion I would suspect it's a hosting issue.
I find your cookie domain to be
southernsportsmansjournal.com
Should be
.southernsportsmansjournal.com
Note the leading dot.
ACP->main page->cookie settings.

Also you may try reducing the file size (not image size) of your header image.
