That's a standard language string which has been around for awhile. Check that /language/{your_lang}/posting.php has an entry for that field. It should look like:

Code: Select all

'TOO_FEW_CHARS_LIMIT' => 'Your message contains %1$d characters. The minimum number of characters you need to enter is %2$d.',

On line 1121 of /includes/message_parser.php add this:

Code: Select all

print_r($user->lang);die();
See if the TOO_FEW_CHARS_LIMIT entry is listed.

It happened in my forum a while ago, too. I noticed that it happened in some pages, where there were posts with less characters than allowed in Minimum characters per post/message: (ACP ->Post settings)
Didn't have time to look into it (not sure whether I would have found anything anyways...)
It stopped happening when I lowered the limit for minimum characters from 3 to 2
So, it seems to me that this happens to posts that were written before activating this setting( I suppose it was initially 0 - I don't really remember) or posts that were written before updating to phpbb 3.0.6 (when this feature was first introduced, IIRC)
Is this a bug, possibly? :)
My mods in MODDB:
Add Homepage link in header - Change user activity post limit - Post number in viewtopic
If you need support click on the support tab there and post your question.
Do not PM me - chances of viewing my PMs are way thinner than viewing the support question in the customization DB...
