Emergency - How to enable account activation and....

Post by Kranium Decay » Sun Dec 26, 2010 6:05 am

I know there are already lots of threads regarding this question. But I checked them all and none help. I tried going to admin panel-->General-->User Registration Setting and enabled that feature (by selecting the 'by user' option) but still when I test by making new account, I don't get any confirmation mail and, thus, I can't login.

Also, I wanted to know how to enable that consecutive post shown on one post itself. Like, if I reply 2 times on a row, my second reply is shown in the 1st reply post, seperated by a silver colored line.

Please help me out! This is very, very important, please.

hi, im not sure as im new to the internet, just trying to learn.

maybe you could try this, go to ACP > General > Client Communication > Email settings > SMTP Settings.
once youre in smtp settings, if your option is yes for Use SMTP server for e-mail then change it to no.

if your option is already set to no then i dont have any other ideas.... but support here seems good so am sure someone with more knowledge will help you ;)

1. Please use the Support Request Template at http://www.phpbb.com/support/srt/ so that others attempting to assist you will have a full picture of your board, as well as the URL to see any possible reasons for the issue.

2. This is not a standard feature. Instead please search for a MOD called Anti-Double Posts. :)

As I said, we need to get more information about your board to be able to tell you what isn't working. We cannot help you without it. Please go to http://www.phpbb.com/support/srt/ and follow the steps to post your Support Request back here.

Please also remember that we'd like you to edit your posts rather than post again if less than six hours have passed. Please see this rule at http://www.phpbb.com/rules/#rule4g.

For your additional question asked, this is part of the forum permissions. Go to groups forum permissions for the group you want not to earn post count (probably Registered Users), select the forum(s), then make "Can increment post count" no for this.
