Displaying Birthdays Globally

Post by Superwaffle »

Hey.
For the life of me, I can't find the option to show your birthday on the index. I can find the boxes for editing the birthday in the UCP, but not an option to have it displayed globally.

Anyone know where I can find it?

Thanks. <3

ACP->board features
Allow birthdays:
Allow birthdays to be entered and age being displayed in profiles. Please note the birthday list within the board index is controlled by a separate load setting.
ACP->load settings
Enable birthday listing:
If disabled the birthday listing is no longer displayed. To let this setting take effect the birthday feature needs to be enabled too.

I already looked around for those, they're both active. Some users are able to have the Congratulations message at the bottom, but some aren't. I can't manage to find the actual per user option to allow the board to congratulate people.

If the user doesn't complete the birth date in the UCP profile it won't display.

Each date field is filled out, and still no message...

Where are you expecting to see a message other than at the bottom of the board?
If it works for some it should work for all.

I want it on the profile screen, along with at the bottom of the board. The problem is that it won't appear at the bottom of the board, despite having all the prerequisite fields filled. It's a bit confusing.

Also, I'm pretty sure my board is unmodified in any way, aside from having an out-dated style. Since I'm not the Board Founder, I won't know everything the generator could tell you, but I'll do it if you still want me too.

.... I just figured it out.

The user in question mixed the Month, and the Day boxes up, and when I set the birthday of the Dummy account, I blindly copied his settings without looking into it.

Sorry for wasting your time.

It was a timezone thingy. It's showing now.

Set your times according to this:

The normal settings for phpBB are as follows:

ACP (admin control panel) Time should be set at UTC as this is what guests and users not logged in will see.
UCP (user control panel) Time should be set to each individual users preference.

Use this to check your Server Time

Your style is extremely out of date and is for board version 3.0.5
Style and board versions must match.

Does it matter if it's out-dated? I would have fixed it a long time ago, but I'm only in the default Admin class, and don't have access to the Styles menu. Not to mention the last time I looked, the style wasn't updated by the author.

Lots of security, bug fixes, and new features. Since version 3.0.6 the style and board versions must match.
Even the Q&A CAPTCHA is not usable, you will be under a bot attack sooner or later if not updated and better CAPTCHA used.

Would it be possible to update my current Style without a new one by the author? Or would we just need to find a completely different one?
