Wrong data at registration

Post by vera » Wed Apr 20, 2011 9:41 am

Hello,

I am having a problem with registration on my forum and I do not know how or where to solve it.

When a person registers, in the suggested fields for "Confirm e-mail address" there is my username and in the password - my password appears (in dots).

I see this information in several places in the ACP - in Autentication (LDAP user dn and LDAP password - and I do not have LDAP); in Jabber settings (Jabber username or JID and Jabber password - and I do not know what THAT is); in Edit Forum (forum image and forum password)...

Where does it come from and how do I get rid of it?

Please help.

thanks,
vera

Your browser is probably autofilling it.

They won't be seeing that information when they register.

Thank you for answering.

I tried to register from a different computer, one which has never been to this forum - and it isn't filled, you seem to be right.

Question though: when I call up a user's information, this information is filled in the same fields; must I take it off? does is replace the information which is supposed to be there? What should I do about it then?

Thanks for your help.

It shouldn't replace any existing information about the user.
Have a look at your browsers autofill options. You should be able to turn it off.

I found it, turned it off, deleted the form data collected... but it still displays it. Can it be something else? Or am I doing something wrong?

It not a phpBB issue. It's the browser.
