How do I add another section

Post by jaylam13 »

Hi,

Not sure the best way to word this but I want to add another forum section where the red line is in my screenshot to contain hard coded links to sections on my site, anyone know how to do it?

Where I want to add it:
untitled.JPG
untitled.JPG (79.01 KiB) Viewed 633 times
And what I would want it to look like:
untitled1.JPG
untitled1.JPG (77.21 KiB) Viewed 633 times
Then I would just put some icon size links in it linking to other sections on the site.

Is it possible?

Thanks in advance

Jay

p.s. Sorry for my rubbish paint skills

Assuming prosilver or derivative you can do this:

Copy the code below and save it as an HTML file called announcement.html in to /styles/yourstyle/template folder.

Code: Select all

<!-- This is the start of the announcement bar -->

<div class="forabg">
        <div class="inner"><span class="corners-top"><span></span></span>
        <ul class="topiclist">
            <li class="header">
                <dl class="icon">
                    <dt>Announcement</dt>
                </dl>
            </li>
        </ul>
        <ul class="topiclist forums" style="padding: 0.05cm">

        Your code here

        </ul>
        <span class="corners-bottom"><span></span></span></div>
        </div>

<!-- This is the end of the announcement bar -->
Obviously you have to add whatever it is you want to add where it says "Your code here"

Then add the following at the very end of your overall_header.html (after the last <!-- ENDIF -->)

Code: Select all

<!-- INCLUDE announcement.html -->
Refresh your template.

Note: You may have to adjust the placing of <!-- INCLUDE announcement.html --> to suit your needs but I think it should be OK as is.

Brilliant, will give this a go when I get home, thanks very much. :)
