Support Request Template
What version of phpBB are you using? phpBB 3.0.9
What is your board's URL? http://www.aquariumsdownunder.com
Who do you host your board with? No answer given
How did you install your board? I used the download package from phpBB.com
Is your board a fresh install or a conversion? Update from a previous version of phpBB3
Do you have any MODs installed? Yes
Is registration required to reproduce this issue? Yes
What version of phpBB3 did you update from? phpBB 3.0.8
What MODs do you have installed? Many. Non of which I believe are the cause of my problem as no changes have been made to the board or server prior to these problems.
What styles do you currently have installed? SS2
What language(s) is your board currently using? En
Which database type/version are you using? MySQL 5
What is your level of experience? Comfortable with PHP and phpBB
What username can be used to view this issue? N/A
What password can be used to view this issue? N/A
When did your problem begin? A while ago. 1-2months. The site was not active due to these ongoing login problems. I've just (successfully) updated to 3.0.9 as my host updated their php version.

I want to get these login problems sorted to get the board active again as I have over 2000 members with almost 50,000 posts sitting going stale :/
Please describe your problem. Admin/mods/users cant stay logged in to the board.

I've tried deleting cache, cookies etc. Same problem in all browsers.

cookie settings from SQL query;

Cookie Domain: .aquariumsdownunder.com
Cookie Name: aduforums
Cookie Path: /
Cookie Secure: 0

I've tried random generated cookie names, no change. Running out of ideas, and is made even harder when I can't stay logged in long enough to access the ACP.

Any ideas? I can't create a test account as I have no ACP access. Feel free to create one (IIRC that may not be possible as new user commented on trouble registering)>

All/any help appreciated!!!

The Support Toolkit has a auto cookie tool. Have you tried that?

No I haven't. But just going through the cookies in FF browser I see the following for my site;

Shouldn't the all be what they are named in the ACP/Database?

Cookie Domain: .aquariumsdownunder.com
Cookie Name: aduforums
Cookie Path: /
Cookie Secure: 0

My post was for you to try to cookie tool, not add a test account. Try that first - then come back if it doesn't work.

The style is just the original SS2 that has had the css modified (colours/gif etc)
I just updated to 3.0.9 yesterday.

As I said previously, I had made no changes to the database files, html or php. The problem was non existant one day and has been present ever since.

I'm running out of ideas...

Your forum seems to be setting 2 sets of cookies with different session IDs.

Do you have some sort of URL rewrite or redirect rules in place?

Not that I'm aware of. As I said, I hadn't made any edits for a looong time, then out of the blue members started to report this problem.

Here's a couple of my htaccess files...

From forum root dir;

Code: Select all

# -FrontPage-

IndexIgnore .htaccess */.??* *~ *# */HEADER* */README* */_vti*

<Limit GET POST>
order deny,allow
deny from all
allow from all
</Limit>
<Limit PUT DELETE>
order deny,allow
deny from all
</Limit>
DirectoryIndex portal.php index.php index.html index.htm
AuthName aquariumsdownunder.com
AuthUserFile /home/aquarium/public_html/_vti_pvt/service.pwd
AuthGroupFile /home/aquarium/public_html/_vti_pvt/service.grp
ErrorDocument 404 /notfound.html
From /cache

Code: Select all

<Files *>
	Order Allow,Deny
	Deny from All
</Files>
Options -MultiViews
ErrorDocument 404 //cache/30355.php
Your help is appreciated... :mrgreen:
