Thread Cap

Post by Netframe » Wed Oct 26, 2011 5:04 am

Hey guys,

I was just wondering about adding a cap to threads say around... 500 posts in a thread. Would I have to get a mod or is there a way I can enable something like this in the ACP?

Thanks!

You would need a MOD, there is no built in facility to that.

If phpBB ever adds an event system, this would be easy to do. For example:

Event: Post added to topic
Threshold type: Post count
Threshold value: 500
Action: Lock topic

Things like Ranks and Hot Topics would just be events.

P.S. phpBB has "topics", not "threads". A "thread cap" is a head covering made of string. :D
