When did your problem begin? I used to use Glacier as a style (one year ago), but that wasn't supported as well as others, and I had trouble refreshing my templates with it so I changed to ProFormell.
Please describe your problem. I'm having trouble refreshing my style templates. It takes way tooooo long. I looked through some database backup files and discovered my phpbb3_styles_template_data file is 400 megabytes, which is about 90% of my database. For some reason it's not getting cleared out, and I don't know why. My permissions are 755 for all the directories. I'd like to know if I can run a modified restore file to rebuild the table to an empty state and start over?

Can I just run this SQL querey to blow away the template data and start over?

Yes, you can do this.

You can also export the styles to keep your changes, but it is likely that there will be duplicates and may be difficult to figure out what the latest changes are.

Have you been editing the templates in the ACP? This is not a good idea. You should download the template file to your computer, edit, upload back to the server and refresh the template.

Thanks for the assist, Dicky. Just making sure - if the styles_template_data table is empty, the site will still work, correct?

And to answer your question, I do NOT use the ACP editor any more to update files. Thanks for the suggestion about that. I used to do that, for testing purposes, but I've actually taken to keeping the most recent versions of all files someplace on my hard drive, so if I ever need to edit one, I just do it there and upload it. If the changes need to be reversed, I just undo it on my PC and upload again.

I think I've noticed that some other people who've had similar problems used RocketTheme styles. I used to have several of them loaded, and I stopped using them. I tested a few more (free ones) a few days ago, and I've seen the database problem get worse. So here I am. I deleted all of those styles yesterday, including some old ones that were still there, and hope these problems don't come back as a result of something they had me edit in the past. We'll see.

Thanks

LOL... Yes, it's fine now. That table just went down from 400 Mbytes to 150 Kbytes. I'm going to keep an eye on that thing now. Thank you!
