Overwrite error on install?

Post by forgothowtocode »

I get this using filezilla

Image

A little odd.

If I don't click something quickly, I wind up several overwrite requests. If i click right away, just the one.

Ya but why is it even happening?

Im beginning to feel that my hosts caching is causing my headaches.

Today instead of deleting the directory, i renamed it to try and shake the cache. Still happens.

That has nothing to do with the cache. What exactly are you trying to do?

If you don't want the old board just delete it before trying to upload.

Ya, ive tried that. I've also tried renaming them to avoid it. I don't know that this error is affecting my installation but im just curious why it occurs.

I thought it was a directory cache problem, where a deleted file isn't actually deleted until written-over with something else.

BTW - I like the forum in your sig. Lost my dog to cancer a year ago after spending mucho denieros to no avail.

Good for people to know how to avoid and what to look for. I didn't and i've had dogs my whole life.

The image you posted is normal for Filezilla, not an error.

My guess is that it failed to upload to the server (leaving a file there with size 0) and now retries.
