Tapatalk ????

Post by mrix2000 » Mon Apr 02, 2012 12:51 pm

Hello all, it was put to me today from one of my forum members about this New plugin called Tapatalk.
The site is here http://tapatalk.com/index.php

Is this something that many forums are actually using? is it safe?

Thanks for your thoughts!

Yes lots of sites use it.
It seems safe enough.

It's free to install the forum side of it.
Users would need to buy the app to read the board but it's dirt cheap.

Yes it's not very expensive but considering that at one time that it was free I was just her up information because some administrators do not want their members to view their forum buy ;)

Hello thanks for the feedback all, I have decided to give it a shot as many forums appear to already be using it, unfortunately I run mod security in my WHM server and its not working :? :(
No way am I going to turn it off as its there for good reason but hopefully I can tweak it somehow ????
Thanks all,
mrix

The tapatalk support forum would be the place to ask about that.

Hello all, what ever I try I cant get this plugin to work

The code they ask to add to the overall_header is this...

<script type="text/javascript" src="{ROOT_PATH}mobiquo/tapatalkdetect.js"></script>

Does this look correct to work with the latest phpbb3 ?

Cheers all
mrix

For MOD related questions you'll have to seek assistance with the author of that MOD. So in the case of Tapatalk you should ask on the support forum of tapatalk.

Hello I have already been posting on their forum but to date had no joy :(

I was just curious if the code which was meant for phpbb3 they supplied would actually link to the plugin ok.

Cheers

Including that JS code in the header is superfluous. It's used to detect a user on a mobile NOT using TapaTalk, and asking him if he wants to buy it. It's not something desirable, IMO.

If you have the mobiquo folder in the forum root, TapaTalk is fully functional.

I had no idea this was actually the case but you are correct as a few of my members have already purchased the app even though I cant get it to work on my site! :o  :?

They say on their site you have to add that code before you install the site plugin! I can now see why!

Thanks for the heads up
mrix
