OK... here's the scenario. I am reading a post from the topic list and I want to reply... I highlight the text I want to address... I click the "Reply with Quote" button and Poof! the whole post appears between the quotes in my post reply box... not just the portion I highlighted.
If I begin by clicking "Reply" to a post... the post dialogue page opens... then if I highlight the text from the original post listed below my message box... then click the "Quote(nickname)" button... it works fine.
Is there anyway to fix this so that I can highlight post text and click "Reply with Quote" and have just the selected text appear between the quotation marks? Thanks in advance :)
"Reply with quote" is a form-submit button. If you have highlighted text, that is not submitted with the form. You would need some sort of mod to change this behavior.
Without a MOD, you have to either delete the text you do not want to quote, or select and copy the text you want to quote, paste it and use the [quote] tags.

Also, without a MOD, if it's within the same topic you can use the Quote button for only part of the text in a post: click Post Reply, in the Topic Review section below the reply window find the post you want to quote, select the text to be quoted, and click the Quote button.
