Re: Bigdump Problem

upload the install folder again and in your browser go to:

yourdomain.com/yourphpbb/install/database_update.php

then delete the install folder again.

do NOT run another install, just do exactly what I posted above.

One problem is that you keep ignoring the advice you are given. No one said to "start again" or to install version 3.0.8. Do this - no more, no less.
Lumpy Burgertushie wrote:I just noticed that you said you installed phpbb 3.0.9 That is two versions behind.

here is what you should do:
*NOTE: Before proceeding backup all files and the database.*
  • Upload all new files from a download of the full version, EXCEPT for config.php, the /images and /files folders.
  • Go to yoursite.com/forumfolder/install/database_update.php
  • Let that run and then delete the install folder.
  • You now have a new up to date board containing all your users and posts but without any MODs that you might have had installed.
that should get you up to date and working in just a few minutes.

sorry but i m not ignoring his advise. i tried and tried again. but nothing change
so i think may be it is just bcoz of my old database was 3.0.7PL. so thats why i upload 3.0.7Pl and install the board. on installing procedure its ask me to download config.php and upload it manually so i did it. i dont know why this come. this was the 1st time that i see this requirement. after that i upload 3.0.8 and run update database its said no error.
okz now i m stuck on this updating and i will wait for the answer.

If your board is reporting that it is 3.0.7-PL1 then you aren't following all of the instructions.

As you've been told several times, upload the latest version files and then run the database_update.php file which will update your database to the latest version.

sorry but if you do what I said above you can not be having the same problem.

forget about what version you have currently.

all you need to do is download the current version complete zip file, not the update version.

then, unzip it on your computer.
remove the blank config.php file from the phpBB3 folder.

using your ftp, copy your current config.php file to your computer for safe keeping.

now, upload all of the new phpBB3 files and folders to your server letting them overwrite the ones that are there.

now, in your browser, go to:
yourdomain.com/yourphpbb/install/database_update.php

let it run,

then, in the ftp delete the folder named "install"

if you follow these instructions exactly and in order, it WILL work with no problems.

take our word for it and just do it.

do not do anything I didn't tell you and be sure to do everything I told you and you will be fine.

you are making this way more difficult than it has to be. :D

I have no clue. if you replaced all the files and ran the update for the database you can't possibly get that error in any way that I am aware of.
