BBcodes parsing

Post by Jakesie » Thu Jan 24, 2013 1:08 pm

Good day,

I am doing some testing on how to import phpbb forums to another platfom, and allthough I have mostly succeeded, I have one major issue, and that is all the images posted are in [img] brackets, and in the database, the img brackets are accompanied by other values as well. here is an example:

[img:2jixjveq]http://img386.imageshack.us/img386/2050/pollimg.jpg[/img:2jixjveq]

How do I get the database to just display the [img] instead of [img:2jixjveq] ?

Thanks .

Jakes

Maybe this can help you, with this official tool you can reparse bbcode on all posts

Thank you,

Really appreciate the help. I have done more research, and if I am correct, my problem is the magic quotes already in the database. So I need a solution on how to get rid of them :(

Best regards

If you want to convert data from your database, you would need to write a tool to do that. You could check the phpBB code that is parsing the data for displaying it.

You may be better of at a support site for the other platform.
