Post by Chumbawamba » Fri Feb 08, 2013 10:59 pm

I know i could do this once before but i cannot seem to upload a users avatar via the ACP anymore the upload form is not there.

i have added a few mods but nothing to do with avatars. and replacing the .php file for the ACP user avatar page does not fix the issue. any help would be greatly appreciated.

Here's how you should get to it.
  1. Log into the ACP.
  2. Click the Users and Groups tab.
  3. Enter the username and click the Submit button.
  4. Click the drop-down list on the upper right.
  5. Click the Avatar option.
  6. Do what you want.

That is:
  • ACP
  • Avatar settings
  • Enable avatar uploading:

yes i do have it enabled you can still upload avatar via the ucp but not the acp.
if it helps i could give someone access to just user management. but this was working before it must be one of my modifications yet i have no idea when it stopped.
Thanks

Edit: if i edit the acp_user_avatar html nd i change the not from the function to show the upload form the forum appears but when i try to upload it doesnt work, is says succesful but when i return to the avatar page no avatar has been uploaded its almost like the functions within the acp have been reversed but when i reverse its state it still wont upload.
when i change this

Code: Select all

		<!-- IF S_UPLOAD_FILE -->
			<dl>
				<dt><label for="uploadfile">{L_UPLOAD_AVATAR_FILE}:</label></dt>
				<dd><input type="hidden" name="MAX_FILE_SIZE" value="{AVATAR_MAX_FILESIZE}" /><input type="file" id="uploadfile" name="uploadfile" /></dd>
			</dl>
		<!-- ENDIF -->
to this

Code: Select all

		<!-- IF not S_UPLOAD_FILE -->
			<dl>
				<dt><label for="uploadfile">{L_UPLOAD_AVATAR_FILE}:</label></dt>
				<dd><input type="hidden" name="MAX_FILE_SIZE" value="{AVATAR_MAX_FILESIZE}" /><input type="file" id="uploadfile" name="uploadfile" /></dd>
			</dl>
		<!-- ENDIF -->
Edit:also just replaced the file with a clean one from the phpbb download package and no change
Edit: Replaced the whole of the adm folder no change. where else is acp_user_avatar effected from?

It is either an edit in /includes/acp/acp_users.php or a problem with permissions.

Please show a screenprint of the Avatar settings in the ACP.

Also, please copy below code in a new file using Notepad++ (not Microsoft Notepad), saving it as upl_ok.php, upload the file to the root of your board and run it in a browser: <your boards url>/upl_ok.php.

Code: Select all

<?php

$file_uploads = (@ini_get('file_uploads') == '1' || strtolower(@ini_get('file_uploads')) === 'on') ? true : false;
echo $file_uploads;

?>
What does it show?

Please give a link to your board. Is the upl_ok.php file still present?
