Quoting and editing posts

Post by gronthak »

Hello,

It seems, that I have a lot of trouble with my forum settings. I have custom style installed on my board and quoting and editing posts doesn't seem to work. I've checked imageset.cfg in both folders containing images and it seems to be correct. When I go into image settings in AP all the images are there. I think my permissions are set correctly, as an admin I did set all possible permissions to all the categories for myself, yet edit and quote is not there for me. Any ideas?

Any help will be greatly appreciated.

I see you already copied the english images to the styles/lucid_lime/imageset/pl/ folder. With the test account you provided I see the quote button and when clicking it, it works as expected.
Was your issue solved?

No, it wasn't. It seems then, that something has to be wrong in permissions for other groups created on forum. as admin or any other group, than registered users, quote is not available and for me as site admin quote and edit are not available.

Thanks for looking into it though.

Could you remove the test account from the Newly Registered Users group? Or am I allowed to post some testposts in a topic?

You can also check the permission mask for your account:
  • ACP
  • PERMISSIONS
  • View forum-based permissions
  • Select a forum where you don't have the edit/quote buttons and click Submit
  • At "Find a member" enter your username and click View permissions
  • Select the tab Actions
  • Click the Image icon before "Can edit own posts".
Please show the results.

test in registered users group only now.

I'm checking permissions now. Will edit this post with results.

EDIT:

All the permissions for my user are set to "full access". I did relog to check it and still no quote and edit options.

The test account is still able to edit (the own post), quote and delete (the last own post).

As I edited my previous post. I'm still unable to do anything even with permissions set to full access or only "can edit own posts". I'll delete all the extra groups and check permissions again.

Did you follow these instructions? Could you post a screen cap of the results in the pop up?

You did not follow the instructions, or you would have a o-> icon on the left that would let you trace permissions. You did not select VIEW Forum-based permissions under Permissions masks.

Your trace is for a Category and not for a Forum. Please do the same for the Forum "Dyskusje bez celu".

Ok... So after some checks I did make few mistakes with group permissions. Everything is sorted now. Thanks a lot for all the help!
