Error Logging into Admiistration Control Panel

Just tried logging into my admin control panel but now I get the following error, its been fine for years. Any idea whats causing it?

General Error

Your phpbb_log database table column log_id has reached the highest number (MySQL MEDIUMINT UNSIGNED = 0..16777215). Execute this command:

ALTER TABLE phpbb_log MODIFY log_id INT NOT NULL auto_increment;
