[SPLIT FROM] Russian invasion

Post by robertmf »

I've had a hit apparently from the Rooskies over the past week. Maybe a dozen per day go into the [INACTIVE USERS] list. From there, I put a [BAN by IP] and [DELETE USER]. We shall see ...

I just updated to 3.0.12 and find I cannot bulk delete INACTIVE USERS. I can delete one at a time, but if I checkbox multiple, the function will only delete one, the first in the list. After clicking, screen does not refresh, either.

Please, anybody else having similar ?
... or did I f*ck up the code changes :geek:

Banning is a waste of time. Prevent them from registering in the first place. See the sticky spam prevention topic in this forum.

I cannot reproduce your issue with deleting inactive users. Try two at a time, then three, etc. and see what happens.

Yes did done read that :) I have both the Q&A + a boolean Turing test in the registration form. I will have to make Q&A more difficult ... pesky buggers

Thanks for checking on the [inactive user] bulk delete. I will have to re-check my update to 3.0.12

The Turing Boolean is a coin flip at best, but Bots have learned that the default in a two choice radio button is seldom right.

I don't know how many classes a day, but I bet if I entered numbers between 2 and 7, I'd get it pretty quick. That's what Bots do when they see a "How many . . " question.

Good points :)

[3DEC] ... after taking your suggestions and revamping the Q&A, the Rooskies have gone away
