stopforumspam alternate?

Post by J_M »

I use human questions, captcha's etc and it does a great job. But because I have a small number of daily registers I also have it admin activated.

Generally I use Stopforumspam to search email, username and IP. And the process has had a high level of success. One just slipped through and it made me wonder if there any alternate sites that you would recommend for doing a manual search?

thank you.

Plenty of good ones in mods, maybe the one that got through was actually a human.

Found with human questions no auto spam gets through.

You should read the sticky at the top of this forum Preventing Spam in phpBB3 and then I suggest you adopt the Q&A CAPTCHA using one GOOD non-searchable Q&A and any spam will stop.

Non-searchable means as in Google.

The Forum Spam List Checker program list about 16 different databases.

I've tried BotScout, but haven't found it to be as useful as SFS.

@OP: Are you having a specific spam issue or are you just asking?
