Login probelm

Post by huddy » Wed Nov 04, 2015 3:49 pm

Hi,

One of our admins has had too many login in attempts. This has left the account needing a catchpa.

After the catchpa is answered, it then repeats the proces so he still can't login.

Logging to the back-end, i can't seem to find a way to reset the account, even if i change the password.

Any ideas?

Thanks

You can reset their login attempts by running this query

Code: Select all

UPDATE phpbb_users SET user_login_attempts = 0 WHERE username = 'theirusername';
Change phpbb_ if that is not your table prefix. Change theirusername to the one you're having trouble with.

Always backup the database before making any changes to it.

See Executing SQL Queries in phpMyAdmin if you are unfamiliar with running queries.

edit - sorted :)

Any reason as to why this may have happened? Is it likely to happen to any user?

Many many thanks for helping :)

Check that the cookie is right.
Sometimes it's just something simple like using the wrong password and you're damn sure it's the right one but it isn't! I've done it myself :)

Or you could install the Reset Login Attempts extension
