[Split] allow users to edit there own posts

Post by sarah001 »

Not sure if I'm posting in the correct place but I am wondering if it's possible to give a selected user permission to edit his own posts without giving that permission 'across the board'.

I've searched and apart from 'creating a new role' (which would be difficult to come up with :? ) I can't find any way to separate one user from the rest in this 'edit' matter.

Would really appreciate any help.

Thank you.

assuming that you have the can edit own post permission set to no for the registered user group;

I think this will work;

create a group.
go to group forum permissions

choose that group
choose all the forums you want him to have this permission in.

set all permissions for no except for the can edit own posts.

put him in that group, do NOT make it his default group.

now, he should still have all the proper permissions for the registered user group and the can edit own posts from the new group.

I'm baaaaaccckkkk. still doing work on donation basis. PM your needs.
