The YouTube BBCode

In BBCode usage add:

Code: Select all

[youtube]{TEXT}[/youtube]
In HTML replacement add:

Code: Select all

<object width="425" height="350"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/{TEXT}"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/{TEXT}" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" width="425" height="350"></embed></object>

I think the code above is not working.

Try this one:

In BBCode usage add:

Code: Select all

[youtube]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v={TEXT}[/youtube]
In HTML replacement add:

Code: Select all

<object width="425" height="350"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/{TEXT}"></param><param name="wmode" value="transparent"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/{TEXT}" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" wmode="transparent" width="425" height="350"></embed></object><br />
<a href="http://youtube.com/watch?v={TEXT}" target="_blank">Link</a><br />
Here you can see it in action.
It also adds a link back to the original Youtube site, directly underneath the video.

It looks like [hr] can no longer be added in the ACP BBCode editor. You have to add a closing tag, so I guess it would have to be added in the code unless you want to use [hr][/hr]

Youtube and Google BBCodes not working

Post by Xabi »

The youtube and google video BBCodes don't work (those including the full URL between BBCodes). phpBB parse the URLs before parsing BBCode and the result is this:

So when you post make sure you check the box in the options that says "Do not automatically parse URL's"

Have you guys reported this as a bug? It seems to me that the auto-parsing of urls should be the last thing to happen, to prevent it from affecting other bbcodes, like it is now.

That's not a very user-friendly approach, I think... "hey, remember: before you publish a Youtube video, check "Do not automatically parse URL's".

I don't think so either. I was looking for a global forum option, but couldn't find it in the admin panel.
