How to change the ACP style ?

I know very well how to install new styles for the Board and also to make them default but is it possible to change styles for the ACP too and if so how ?

I did not mean that actually...

By style I meant the theme like prosilver, subsilver, subsilver2, etc.

As far as I know, you are not able to change the ACP style because the developers were concerned that badly made templates could possibly prevent the ACP from displaying correctly. Having only one style can prevent that.

How will that prevent anything? You can, in theory (and probably in practice), create whatever you want and upload it to your site in adm > styles

Klarine has the right idea.

The original idea behind allowing the board style to affect the phpBB2 acp was that control panel authors and webhosts in general would customize it to suit the theme of their own control panels. However this was never really widely used as such, and in fact caused issues in phpBB2 when a user breaks his template, he will possibly lose acp access (which from my experience was relatively common with new inexperienced users).

David is right, you can still skin it of course. Here is an example by DoubleJ
