Errors In Conversion

Post by cloefke »

I messed up and posted this in the wrong location on the board, so now that I'm in the right location, here is my problem.

I've installed the latest and greatest (and it went fine), and now that I try to convert from 2.0x to RC1, I continuously receive the following errors...

[phpBB Debug]PHP Notice: in file /install/convertors/functions_phpbb20.php on line 379: phpbb_set_encoding(./../../forums/language/lang_/lang_main.php): failed to open stream: No such file or directory

[phpBB Debug] PHP Notice: in file /install/convertors/functions_phpbb20.php on line 379: phpbb_set_encoding(): Failed opening './../../forums/language/lang_/lang_main.php' for inclusion (include_path='.:/include:/usr/lib/php')

I'm anxious to resolve this so our board can move on and enjoy all the new items in phpbb, but I'm stuck. Being a "non-programmer" and truly a rookie at php, I'm hopingy the above will help someone tell me what I need to do or fix so I can get the conversion completed.

Thanks!

Chuck

So, can I assume that no one knows an answer... or should I just change software and get it over with?

Part of the error message:
No such file or directory
Make sure all the files mentioned in the error message are present on the server and are uploaded in correct locations. :)
ie, keep the directory structure.

Also, make sure you have the english, and/or/both the boards default language files present.
/forums/language/lang_/lang_main.php
Is missing something from the path.
/lang_ is incorrect.

Thanks for the suggestions, but I've already checked both to make sure that things are present. That's why its so perplexing. One of those weird things that happen I guess.
