Modding redirect page after logging/posting/editing/etc.

Post by Forum-UK.co.uk » Fri Aug 31, 2007 1:23 am

Hi there.
First of all, sorry if this has been answered before somewhere, but i couldn't find the solution (yes, i did search)

Basically, I want to modify the page that shows up after logging in and posting (and anywhere else this page is shown) to my site.

Current it is like this (unmodified).....
Image

What I want to do, is add a couple of lines under "Return to the last forum visited"
The lines i which to add are...
"Return to the board index" and..
"Return to the Home page"

Both these will be clickable links that will take you to the disered page. Also, I would like to change the redirect time, and page too.

Thanks for your help.
Fraser

I think you have more or less 2 options there. This page is shown by the msg_handler function in the includes/functions.php which basically handles error message (and notices etc.) by phpBB and then gives them a nice look and feel. So you could start adding more global variables and then append your links to the MESSAGE_TEXT template variable this function uses.

Or you could hunt down every location where you want to have your additional links added to that trigger_error call (that is in the end handled by the msg_handler function) and edit the passed message there.

I hope this helps :-)

EDIT: These are the entry points when you want to have dynamic links added. If you only want to have static links everywhere and the same everywhere, then edit the message_body.tpl :-) (Thank AcydBurn for indicating that you didn't even want dynamic links ;-) )

I'm not 100% sure what I'm editing in includes/functions.php. Can you please point me in the right direction.

Also, i couldnt find a file called message_body.tpl

Thanks

styles/prosilver/template/message_body.tpl

This is all you need if you want to have those links everywhere and don't require dynamic links.

I dont have that file.

I have Message_body.html which contains...

Code: Select all

<!-- INCLUDE overall_header.html -->

<div class="panel" id="message">
	<div class="inner"><span class="corners-top"><span></span></span>
	<h2>{MESSAGE_TITLE}</h2>
	<p>{MESSAGE_TEXT}</p>
	<!-- IF SCRIPT_NAME == "search" and not S_BOARD_DISABLED and not S_NO_SEARCH --><p><a href="{U_SEARCH}" class="{S_CONTENT_FLOW_BEGIN}">{L_RETURN_TO_SEARCH_ADV}</a></p><!-- ENDIF -->
	<span class="corners-bottom"><span></span></span></div>
</div>

<!-- INCLUDE overall_footer.html -->
