why are members able to see ip's in who's online?

sorry for all the questions but i am brand new at this and search and search for answers and sometimes can not find them without posting a question here...

i have phpBB 3 RC5 installed
prosilver style

i was checking to see how registered user were seeing the board and i noticed that they were able to see the ip addresses of members in the who's online box

what do i need to set so that regular members can not see those ip addresses and adm and moderators can?

I'm pretty sure that by default members can't see IP addresses.

ok, but they can so i must have inadvertently allowed it and don't know where...could you point me to where i can change that? thanks a bunch

Are you sure that you are using a normal account (i.e. not your admin account)?

yes, i used the option to view with the members permissions, they can see the ip's

When you are using the test permissions feature, you keep your full set of administrator permissions. Otherwise you would find your self unable to use the feature.

you are absolutely right, i checked with one of the members and they said they could not see the ip's...thanks a bunch
