Which ones? Subscriptions to forums or topics? Or topic reply notifications?

Is there a way to do this? I would like to change the default to notify for all forums for all users, existing or not, or at least for new users.

Thanks,
brian

In phpMyAdmin, edit the user_notify field in the users table to a default value of 1.

Can you give details on how to do this? I have only set defaults via the ACP, and have not made any mods. If changes need to be made via SQL (which I have used in Foxpro, not mysql), how is this done? Can you point me to a primer?

Thanks,
Brian

You don't need to run a query to do as I suggested - just click the pencil icon and edit. But:

This is excellent, and doesn't appear to be too difficult.

1. What is the difference between setting the user_notify field to 0/1 vs. adding a record to the forum_watched table?

2. Can records be simply inserted into forum_watched and then filled in with forum_id, user_id, user_notify to set subscriptions or are there index problems / other tables that need modifying?

3. Is there documentation that would answer my two questions above?

Thanks,
Brian
