see I'm confused because I have a modded board and had zero issues updating to RC6 and RC7 so I'm assuming the issue is happening with boards that altered the database to install a mod is this true?

On a fresh install of r7 I am not able to clear the cache see images below

Some how the directory is getting lost as seen in the last image.

*add* this is using the default prosilver

I've corrected my own skin with the instructions provided earlier, everything is working , the ACP etc ...except the access to my passwords protected forum.

Any idea of what i need to modify to get my skin to work with this ?

Thank you.

Hi,
karlsemple wrote:that is the issue which has been fixed in the announcement I linked to, you will have to download the updater again and start the update process again, it will do no harm to run it again.
Update (RC5>>RC7, with Prosilver) process went without any problem!

However, when I logged in the board I got the error:
General Error
You need to enter your password to access the Administration Control Panel.
Any solution for this? Thanks for all the help.

EDIT: The "General Error" occurred when I tried to sign into the ACP.

After upgrading to RC7 from RC5 I'm having problems with the default board style.
My board has two styles installed.
Before upgrading to RC7 I used to switch the dafault one (the one used by new users and guests) by chosing it in Admin Control Panel -> Board settings -> Default style
Now this setting is ignored :shock:

What can I do ?

Hi,

The broad is working fine now. The issue related to the "General Error" is also resolved. Just share with all who encountered similar Error, I solved it using one of the "fix.php" files. There several of them. I tried three. Only this one worked for me (see thread: http://www.phpbb.com/community/viewtopi ... 6&t=584866).
<?php
define('IN_PHPBB', true);
$phpbb_root_path = (defined('PHPBB_ROOT_PATH')) ? PHPBB_ROOT_PATH : './';
$phpEx = substr(strrchr(__FILE__, '.'), 1);
include($phpbb_root_path . 'common.' . $phpEx);

// Start session management
$user->session_begin();
$auth->acl($user->data);

// check to make sure the user can be here...
if (!$user->data['is_registered'])
{
if ($user->data['is_bot'])
{
redirect(append_sid("{$phpbb_root_path}index.$phpEx"));
}
login_box('', 'LOGIN');
}
else if ($user->data['user_type'] != USER_FOUNDER)
{
trigger_error('You are not allowed in here. :)');
}

// Run the queries
$sql = 'SELECT template_id FROM ' . STYLES_TABLE . " WHERE style_name='prosilver'";
$result = $db->sql_query($sql);
$row = $db->sql_fetchrow($result);
$db->sql_freeresult($result);

$sql = "DELETE FROM " . STYLES_TEMPLATE_DATA_TABLE . ' WHERE template_id = ' . $row['template_id'];
$db->sql_query($sql);

$cache->purge();

trigger_error('<span style="color:green; font-weight:bold;">Template Data purged successfully</span>');
?>

Problem is FIXED

Fatal error: Cannot instantiate non-existent class: template_compile in /home/battleat/public_html/phpBB3/includes/template.php on line 217
This is the error I have received while in the middle of my Automatic Update. I had just previously updated from RC4 to RC 5 and all went SMOOTH Now this any ideas???

Using all standard (stock) phpBB3 code except for my board logo...Haven't even changed colors yet.

I just went back and refreshed (IE7) the page for my forum now I am getting these errors:
Warning: main(./../includes/functions.php): failed to open stream: No such file or directory in /home/battleat/public_html/phpBB3/index.php on line 151

Warning: main(./../includes/functions.php): failed to open stream: No such file or directory in /home/battleat/public_html/phpBB3/index.php on line 151

Fatal error: main(): Failed opening required './../includes/functions.php' (include_path='.:/usr/local/lib/php') in /home/battleat/public_html/phpBB3/index.php on line 151
Help my board is down and out of service....

Problem is FIXED

Hi, I have a problem updating from RC5 to RC7 using Automatic Updater. I've uploaded the installation folder through ftp but when I tried to execute the install folder, it gives me this error:
Fatal error: Cannot redeclare gen_sort_selects() (previously declared in /home/xxx/public_html/forums/includes/functions.php:230) in /home/xxx/public_html/forums/includes/functions_content.php on line 44
Any idea what's wrong? I'm using prosilver style with no mods.

Thanks.

Hi My RC6 is working just fine, is it still advisable to update to RC7 or wait for maybe the GOLD release and update to that ?

I always do my updates manually using prosilver with only a few mods, Topic Hover,Ajax Shoutbox & Sticky mods.

So i see in RC7 that none of the files are directly related to my mods as far as i can tell.

Thanks

I did the update and all is 100% as far as i can tell :)

Keep up the good work :)
