RC7 error, but then I lose data?

Post by kickball365 »

Site: http://kickballboards.kemph.com

Steps I took:
1. downloaded rc5 to rc7
2. ran install
3. received "invalid form" error message
4. re-uploaded install - reverted the styles
5. my db has not changed, but now i have the framework of my site, but NO data.

Thoughts?

its in subsilver2, but I can't gain access to the ACP at the moment to switch it.

right if you completed the update process those errors are as a result of your board using the old out od date cached template files stored in the database, both the ACP access and form invalid error are addressed by emptying (not dropping) the styles_template_data database table if you have access to the database using something such as phpmyadmin.

Alright, so within the styles_template_data table I have four fields, but nothing else.
template_id
template_filename
template_mtime
template_data

Should I empty the fields within the table?

As of now,
"MySQL returned an empty result set (i.e. zero rows). (Query took 0.0003 sec)"

sure, after i uploaded the install folder i ran it, and then noticed no one could post.
then noticed on the support forums to copy over whatever modded styles that I might have (i had updated overall_header and forumlist_body so I assumed that would fix my issue).

it didn't.

So i did a complete install of php3 RC7 and now I have forum structure, with no data. they are accounted for in the states, but nothing shows. i have no touched the db at all. im clueless on this one...

this is where I am confused.....you say you did a fresh install of RC7? So how does this relate to your update attempt? Have you restored the existing database into the new installation? Or did you just replace the files with fresh RC7 ones and keep the config.php

sorry, it's late, but THANK YOU for replying! Much appreciated.

Fresh install, sorry, I copied the RC7 Full install to the site and kept the same config.php file.

I login normally and my footer is jacked so I manually try to visit the adm/index.php

And I get this:
"Access to the Administration Control Panel is not allowed as you do not have administrative permissions."

- How can I reset the style by not logging into the ACP?
- Does my issue have anything to do with the .bak files?
- Any suggestions?
