Transfer Admin Permissions

Post by CaptainB »

Hi!

I have given my board to a member, and want him to become the new owner with all admin permissions and so on.

But I can't seem to make it work.

I have marked him as founder, as well as moved him to the admin usergroup.
In the "Permissions" tab --> Administrators I have also added him on the userside.

How come? Is it because I still run phpBB3 RC5?

He the user has founder status they will be able to access the Admin panel and remove your founder status, thus giving them the board :)

Well. When I test out the certain user's permissions, I can not access the admin panel, lock topics etc. I guess I should be able to do that?

No, the testing permission does not give you their Admin permissions, that is merely for testing forum access permissions etc..... If you have set them as founder via the user management then that is all you need to do, they will then be able to login and access the whole ACP where they can then change things as they see fit, including removing you as founder :)

Have just recieved an email from him, and here's what he says:

A) can't edit any other persons posts
B) can't lock, delete or move topics
C) can't reply to locked topics
D) Can can only go to admin control panel

So, the problem is not solved. Anybody have any thoughts on this?
