Lurttinen's fix with the disabling of the DNS blackhole list check seemed to work for me too. Probably will for a lot of guys out there...

I have not got the "Check IP against DNS Blackhole List" enabled But I get the same problem when I try to post more then 3 pic's in one post.

This is the error messages

Errors first time trying to submit post

Code: Select all

SELECT bbcode_id, bbcode_tag, bbcode_helpline FROM phpbb_bbcodes WHERE display_on_posting = 1 ORDER BY bbcode_tag
second time tying to submit post

Having the same problem .... When I try to access the ACP!!

Arrghhhh!

Has anyone found a way to fix this?

The original problem was that the DNSBL check was taking too long.

When you enter ACP, it does something similar. It checks the phpBB version you are running to see if there are any updates.
If this takes too long it might just give you MySQL server has gone away -errors.

phpBB was doing server maintenance, so the version check may have been hanging.

My board had this problem when a new user would register. The cause was that I set up faulty SMTP mail settings and the solution was to turn that off and use the board's default mail system.
