Post by Gioware »

Hello gr8 ppl overhere.

I'm trying to install fresh RC8, but when I go to last step ( /index.php?mode=install&sub=create_table ) I get:

Code: Select all

Please contact the server administrator, webmaster@mysite.com and inform them of the time the error occurred, and anything you might have done that may have caused the error.

More information about this error may be available in the server error log.

Additionally, a 404 Not Found error was encountered while trying to use an ErrorDocument to handle the request.
and there are some spec.

Code: Select all

OpenSSL/0.9.7a
mod_bwlimited/1.4
mod_auth_passthrough/2.1

PHP/5.2.5
any suggestions? Thank you.

P.S. tried to delete .htaccess but no use.

P.P.S.

Code: Select all

max_input_nesting_level 64

Is your page hosted by 1&1?

I got such problems at updating RC5 to RC7 and caused me a lot of headache...I tried to convert the database like 100 time over a large period of time till it succeeded.

It's strange if it's a fresh install, i thought in my case that this error was caused by high load at conversion because of the limiting by host.

I have the same issue on a totaly new install on a clean server.

My server is not loaded at the time I make the request. I have deleted everything and re unzip the file but to no avail.

A "random" Error 500 is usually a result of the server being overloaded. As there's really no way the installation could do this, this is an indication that the server is simply not very well configured. Alternatively, it may also be an issue with a security setting your host has. Again, this would likely require contacting them to inquire about anything that may be causing the problem.

Its not publicy visible and there is only me working on it.

I cannot even install as the redirect never work. If I try to access install.php I get the same error. What security or permissions problem could be causing this.

In which case, this'd likely indicate an error on your hosts end.

So, I contacted my host and Mr. Andrew H. (support on liquidweb inc.) corrected it, so it was: mod_security causing the error.

you can't disable it yourself, mod security is issomething that hosts install to increase the security of their servers, however badly configured versions can mess stuff up, as NightSky found out,

contact your host and see if they can correct the issue, as they are the only ones that can
